The Mark eventually began assert a will of its own and began to corrupt Lucifer. Rather than destroying her and causing a disruption in the Cosmic Balance, God created a Mark to serve as the lock and key to her cage, and gave it to His most trusted archangel - Lucifer. Together they battled and defeated God's sister, the Darkness, tricking her and trapping the Darkness. Lucifer, the second of the archangels created, was the most favored of God and formed an especially strong bond with his older brother Michael. God created the archangels: Michael, Lucifer, Raphael, and Gabriel.
